The past few weeks have been interesting and exciting we visited a variety of families but first, we ate our very first vegan thanksgiving feast. Luckily we planned for this everyone helped, and we made Fulfilling and delicious dishes we can’t forget about the sweets for the sweet tooth. We were excited to see how our vegan recipes turned out. Our vegan feast consists of collard greens over brown rice Fried mushrooms Macaroni and cheese, fried plantains, pumpkin pie, vegan dinner rolls, and vegan loaf with mushroom gravy on top, and banana bread
And we had pumpkin pie and chocolate chip banana bread. For the pumpkin pie we replaced the brown sugar with date paste, and we used coconut cream In replace of heavy cream and used arrowroot flour instead of corn starch For the banana bread we only had to substitute and use date paste, olive oil and unbleached all purpose flour
We made some vegan ranch for dipping with the fried mushrooms. Everyone couldn’t believe that the ranch was vegan. They all stated that “It taste just like hidden valley ranch”. All we substituted was the mayo with vegan mayo and milk with coconut milk and BOOM! Vegan ranch for everyone to enjoy!
In the end, our first vegan Thanksgiving was spectacular. We created lasting memories and had fun completing each dish in the kitchen. We were so grateful to be able to share our vegan dishes with the whole family and spend some much-needed quality time. Be sure to check back soon for holiday recipes!
